Executive Summary with Rationale and Impact:

Detailed description of the item and why we are doing it. This can be a separate attachment.

The Crime Prevention and Control Commission (CPCC) funds are used to implement an evidence-based, accountable, and efficient public safety strategy to reduce crime and delinquency and to increase neighborhood safety.

In 2018, the Office of Behavioral Health Services, which includes the Crime Prevention and Control Commission, moved from Denver Human Services management to the Department of Public Health and Environment. The 2019 budget will reflect these changes. As such, the current CPCC Fund, 13821, must move from the Human Services Fund Series to the Public Health Fund Series. The new expending authority will be the Executive Director of DDPHE and the new fund number will be 14821. The fund will continue to be set up on a cash-basis and will be non-lapsing.

The cash balance in fund number 13821 will be transferred to the new fund (14821) as part of this ordinance request. A reconciling entry as part of year-end close may be necessary.
