Detailed description of the item and why we are doing it. This can be a separate attachment.
With the passing of the I300 in 2016, only one business is in operation. Through interview with interested potential applicants and a careful study of maps showing the pacts of distance requirements, it is evident that the additional distance requirements are thwarting the intent of the voter-approved initiative by restricting available locations.

This bill will keep proximity restrictions from schools set at 1000 feet, reduce proximity restrictions childcare facilities, city-owned recreation centers and outdoor pools, and drug and alcohol treatment facilities to 50...
