Amends a contract with Hensel Phelps Construction Co. by reducing the contract term by 87 calendar days and revising the milestone dates and liquated damages associated with them for construction work related to the Central Utility Plan (CUP) R-22 Replacement project, at Denver International Airport. No change to contract amount (201734839-01). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 12-16-19. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 11-13-19.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
This is the first amendment for Central Utility Plants (CUP) R-22 Replacement project. This contract is for the construction services for the removal of three (3) 4,150‐ton chillers, which will be replaced with six (6) new 2,500‐ton chillers to include new pumps, variable frequency drives, air handling units and supporting electrical, structural, life safety, instrumentation and controls equipment. The project entails procuring, receiving and installing the specified equipment within the CUP. The Environmental Protection Agency mandated that R‐22 refrigerant be phased out with a complete ban of its use in January 2020. This amendment will update the contract term and revise the milestone dates and liquated damages associated with them. There is no change to contract funding.
