A resolution approving a proposed Second Amendatory Agreement between the City and County of Denver and Volunteers of America Colorado Branch for to provide emergency short-term shelter.
Amends a contract with Volunteers of America Colorado Branch (VOA) by adding $547,500 for a new total of $1,553,700 and one year for a new end date of 12-31-20 to provide emergency short-term shelter for individuals and families through the City’s motel voucher program (SOCSV-2018-39578-02; SOCSV-201952821-02). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 2-18-20. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 1-15-20.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
Authorizes a second amendment to the contract with Volunteers of America Colorado Branch (VOA), through contract control number SOCSV-2018-39578-02, SOCSV-201952821-02 Jaggaer to add $547,500 for a new contract total of $1,553,700 and to extend the term by twelve (12) months.
VOA provides emergency short-term shelter for individuals and families, including when the City's emergency shelter beds are full through the City’s motel voucher program.
The voucher program will continue to administered at DHS with no changes to the client facing operations, HOST will manage the contract with VOA starting in January 2020.
There is capacity for 30 rooms per night and the average length of stay is 60 days or less.
