A resolution approving a proposed Agreement between the City and County of Denver and Second Chance Center, Inc. to provide jail-to-community reentry services.
Approves a contract with Second Chance Center, Inc. for $671,562 and through 12-31-21 for reentry programing to reduce recidivism through targeted supportive services delivered both in jail and at the center located at 1391 Delaware Street in Council District 10 (ENVH-202158589). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 7-19-21. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 6-16-21.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
Second Chance Center was recently selected by the Crime Prevention and Control Commission through a competitive solicitation to provide reentry services in Denver. Second Chance Center will work in conjunction with other local service providers to provide supportive services to individuals exiting the Denver jail system to reduce recidivism. Second Chance Center will follow the Transition from Jail to Community (TJC) model, an evidence-based practice that has been shown to be successful by targeting interventions to address an individual’s specific criminogenic risk factors.
