A bill for an ordinance approving a proposed First Amendment to Agreement between the City and County of Denver and Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, d/b/a Mile High Flood District, concerning drainage and flood control improvements for Globeville Levee Project.
Amends an intergovernmental agreement with Urban Drainage and Flood Control District (UDFCD), doing business as Mile High Flood Control District, by adding $3,050,000 of UDFCD Funds and $2,550,000 of City funds for a new total of $7,100,000 for flood control improvements for the South Platte River and Globeville Levee from 31st Street to East 50th Avenue in Council District 9. No change to agreement duration (202054890; 202158995). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 7-26-21. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 6-22-21.

The Mile High Flood District (aka Urban Drainage and Flood Control District) and the City and County of Denver are working together to design approximately 7,900 linear feet of improvements to the existing levee which are needed to reduce the risk of river flooding in the Globeville/ Utah Junction drainage basin, and to comply with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) freeboard requirements.
