Amends a contract with The Salvation Army by adding $7,744,378 for a new total of $25,805,537 and one year for a new end date of 6-30-22 to provide 24-hour shelter operations and services support for congregate shelter and non-congregate activated respite and protective action hotel and motel rooms for people experiencing homelessness in response to the COVID-19 pandemic (HOST 202159688-02). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 10-4-21. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 9-1-21.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
The purpose of this contract amendment is to continue to engage with The Salvation Army Inc to provide 24-Hour Shelter Operations and Services Support for Congregate Shelter at 48th Avenue Shelter (“48th Avenue Shelter”) and Non- Congregate Activated Respite and Protective Action hotel and motel rooms (“Hotel/Motel Sites”) for people experiencing homelessness within Denver City and County throughout the current COVID-19 emergency. This amendment would allow the Contractor to provide these services in response to the COVID-19 public health crisis through June 30, 2022 unless otherwise extended. The current contract allows flexibility to reduce and/or adjust services during the extended period if appropriate to respond to emergent sheltering needs.
