DOTI (Wastewater) and Denver Parks and Rec are collaborating on a pond and park project near Heron Pond/Carpio Sanguinette Park, which will replace East 51^st Avenue east of Emerson Street.  The roadway will also extend to the 51^st Avenue Bridge over the South Platte River (constructed Spring 2022).  A new water main will service the proposed park and future development south of 51^st Avenue and connect to the water main replaced with the 51^st Avenue Bridge/Levee Project.  A 50-ft non-exclusive easement is being granted to the Denver Water Board for the portion of roadway between the existing 51^st Avenue right-of-way and the levee.
