Carol, here is the response I
got from our leader at the Franklin/20th Ave. facility. I hope
this helps.

Hi Tom, In regards to the
Nonsmoking on the 20th
Ave. Campus and Rock Creek, I would say that it has
not been easy to implement and we continue to have struggles with our neighbors
due to staff and providers smoking and tossing their cigarette butts into the
street, lawns etc.... We all believe this is the right choice but it has
caused resources to monitor and do performance management. It is nice to not
have to walk through smoke when coming into the building for both patients and
staff. Walking between our building and the hospital you often will need
to walk past the smoke. The biggest complaint we get is about the mess
that is left along the sidewalk and curb.
