A resolution approving a proposed Second Amendatory Agreement between the City and County of Denver and Big Truck Rental, LLC. to assist with citywide trash, recycling, and compost collection until city-purchased vehicles can be delivered, and to add maintenance services for all 15 trucks.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:

DOTI provides residential recycling, organics, and solid waste collection services to single-family households and multi-family residential buildings with up to seven (7) units. Solid waste and recycling services are provided to approximately 183,000 households. With the launch of Volume Base Pricing on January 1, 2023, DOTI now provides weekly recycling along with trash and compost. These additional 15 rented refuse trucks from Big Truck Rental, LLC have supplemented the City’s current fleet and have allowed for expansion of services to the residents of Denver. Adding a maintenance services agreement for all 15 trucks is critical to ensure that the rental trucks stay operational and not become a burden to our current fleet maintenance crew. Original contract with Big Trucks Rental, LLC only had the funding capacity for two months and did not include a maintenance services agreement. This amendment shall expand the funding to continue to rent the 15 trucks until the end of 2023 and to keep them maintained and working properly.
