Type and Scope of services to be performed:

This contract engages Ability Connection Colorado, Inc. as a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Out-of-School Youth service provider for the City and County of Denver for the 2020-21 funding year, with a special focus on training and employment services for the disconnected youth population of Denver, being defined as age 16-24 and neither enrolled in school nor currently employed.

 

Denver Workforce Services aspires to provide workforce development activities that increase the employment, retention, earnings, and occupational skill attainment by participants, and, as a result, improves the quality of the workforce, reduces dependency on government assistance, and enhances the productivity and competitiveness of the region. 

 

Ability Connection Colorado, Inc. provides inclusive education, pathways to employment, and family support programs to create opportunities across Denver Colorado.  Their vision is “To live in a community that includes, accepts, and celebrates the abilities and contributions of all individuals,” and a Mission, “To support Coloradans through innovative and comprehensive early childhood education, employment, and support programs.” Ability Connection is well positioned to provide programs and services to young men and women in Denver to assist them in connecting with education, training and employment opportunities.  

 

Denver Workforce Services contracted in a similar vein with Ability Connection Colorado for the 2019-20 year, and the results were productive, thus the decision to engage in this contract again for 2020-21.
