Amends a contract with Ernst & Young US LLP to amend the scope of services to include research, benchmarking and financial analysis related to health care provided by Denver Health and Hospital Authority (DHHA). No change to contract amount or duration (FINAN- 202369089-02/FINAN-202159995-00). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 9-18-2023. Type and Scope of services to be performed: This request does not change the amount or dates of the existing agreement. The original contract scope included identification of potential grant opportunities for the City, assessment of eligibility of proposed uses of ARPA funding, assessment of City’s grant management processes and controls, and support for ARPA reporting. Within the existing amount, the Department of Finance is seeking the expertise of Ernst & Young US LLP to provide research, benchmarking and financial analysis related to health care considering Denver Health’s current financial challenges. Anticipated activities include benchmarking; county health care subsidy market research; workshop and interviews; and financial analysis.
The City contracts with Denver Health as a vendor to provide medical services for our jail population and provides financial support to serve Denver residents who are medically indigent or uninsured. The total 2023 budgeted amount in the contract with Denver Health is over $69 million with the amount for medically indigent at $30 million. Denver Health is the only safety net hospital in Denver.
No additional funds needed to accommodate this expanded scope of work.
