Contract Control Number: CASR 202262111

Vendor/Contractor Name (including any “DBA”): Montbello Organizing Committee

Type and Scope of services to be performed:

This is an expenditure contract for Montbello Organizing Committee to provide sustainable transportation options to community-based organizations and the residents of Montbello.

In 2021, CASR conducted a Community Based Needs Assessment in the Montbello neighborhood, engaging with community members, community leaders and community-based organizations engaged with Montbello residents.  This assessment identified barriers that neighborhood residents face around their transportation options and also identified potential solutions that would help improve mobility in the neighborhood using electrified transportation options.  Following the assessment, CASR issued an RFP focused on supporting the provision of electrified mobility options in Montbello and MOC responded with a successful proposal.  Thirty-eight precent of the contract value ($312,669) will support the capital investments (electric shuttle, e-bikes, charging station) needed to stand up these projects, while the balance of the contract will support MOC’s work to implement these projects over the term of the contract.

Montbello Organizing Committee (MOC) will purchase a community electric van, install a commercial Level II electric charging station for the participating Community Based Organizations and public use, and establish an electric bicycle library in the Montbello community. MOC will provide education and training for contractors, participating CBOs, residents, and others to ensure safe operation of the electric van, charging station, and electric bikes. MOC will also provide data on the electric van, charging station, and electric bikes usage to CASR.
