Amends a contract with Denver Health and Hospital Authority by adding $349,992 for a new total of $1,399,984 and one year for a new end date of 12-31-20 to expand access and availability of evidence-based treatment services to Denver’s homeless population, recently released from detox, citywide (SOCSV-2016-31694-03; SOCSV-201952411-03). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 12-23-19. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 11-13-19.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
Amends a contract with Denver Health and Hospital Authority to add $349,992.00 for a total amount of $1,399,984 for the term January 1, 2020 - December 31, 2020. Program will expand access and availability of evidence-based treatment services to Denver’s homeless population, recently released from detox. The program will serve 48 individuals in treatment and 60 individuals in ongoing case management each year.
CHaRTS III is a supportive case management program for 12 individuals residing in the Return Transitional Residential Treatment (TRT) Program, a 90-day transitional residential treatment program that targets frequent users of the Detox program at Denver CARES. Up to 60 individuals will receive case management services in a year and up to 20 of these individuals can receive supportive housing through the Tennant Based Rental Assistance program. The TRT Program is housed in the Denver CARES facility, managed by Denver Health.
Denver CARES (Comprehensive Addictions Rehabilitation and Evaluation Services) is a 100-bed, non-medical, clinically managed treatment facility.
CHaRTS is a partnership with Denver Health, HOST, Office of Behavioral Health Services (OBHS) and Colorado Coalition for the Homeless aimed at supporting frequent utilizers of emergency rooms, jails, and detox centers.
