Type and Scope of services to be performed:

The DSD has gone out to RFP and through that process have selected Trinity Services Group to take over DSD contract food service operations. Trinity Services Group performed at a high level during the assessment process, including, providing detailed and appropriate responses to general operational and targeted questions. Their response to the original RFP, subsequent interview, and taste testing made them stand out as an industry leader. Their projected skill, professionalism, and quality of service, coupled with the industry wide increase in food service costs in general, are compelling factors that justify the increased cost of the pending contract. Moreover, awarding our food service contract to Trinity Services Group will alleviate challenges currently being experienced by the DSD and bring stability to the food service program as a whole.

The summarized scope of work for this contract encompasses delivering quality food services for approximately 1700 inmates and 400 DSD staff members at the Downtown Detention Center (DDC), County Jail (COJL) and Community Corrections Impact Center with the potential of 800 DSD Staff. Specifically focused on ensuring proper staffing and the delivery of quality food services at both Denver Sheriff Department kitchen facilities. The Scope includes offering a culinary arts program for qualified inmates and installing and sustaining alternative food purchase options for DSD staff in the form of a mini market at both the DDC and COJL. Additionally, the scope offers appealing, nutritious, and appetizing meals to inmates and staff.
