A resolution approving a proposed a Fifth Amendatory agreement between the City and County of Denver and Thriving Families to continue providing targeted early intervention for mothers who recently had a child and are eligible for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
Amends a contract with Thriving Families by adding $184,590 for a new total of $838,094 and one year for a new end date of 6-30-2024 to continue providing targeted early intervention supports for mothers who recently had a child and are eligible for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), citywide (SOCSV-202367648-05). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 8-14-2023. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 7-12-2023.

Thriving Families
Type and Scope of services to be performed:
To support and engage TANF eligible participants to develop strategies that address individual and family needs, DHS will work jointly with Thriving Families to provide the following:
Intensity, frequency, and duration of services. Overall, the Thriving Families, MotherWise program engages women for approximately three (3) months, prior to or soon after the birth of a baby. Mothers participate in a core workshop with twenty-four (24) hours of content and approximately six hours of one-on-one case management services (i.e., family support) during their engagement with the program. In addition to these core services, Thriving Families also offers other services, including workshops on parenting and infant care, postpartum depression prevention, and for couples (as appropriate), as well as trauma-informed therapy.
