Approves a contract with Impact Charitable for $3,000,000 and through 6-30-2024 to provide eligible Denver residents one-time, direct cash assistance, up to $1,500, to mitigate the negative financial impact of the pandemic and support economic stability, citywide (HRCRS-202367950). Type and Scope of services to be performed:
As a part of Denver’s response to aftermath of the COVID 19 pandemic, HRCP endeavors to establish a project to assist Denver residents, which at least one child, who were impacted due to COVID 19 or its aftermath and are ineligible for public benefit assistance. Impact Charitable is a 501c3 that has provided one-time direct cash transfers in the amount of $500 - $1,500 USD to individuals impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic but who were not eligible for other forms of assistance. Impact Charitable started a state-wide pilot program on April 9, 2020, to assist impacted individuals throughout Colorado; to date they have given over $37,000,000 to nearly 25,000 eligible recipients.
Building on the success of this program, Impact Charitable will partner with HRCP and the City and County of Denver to establish a basic cash assistance program for families directly impacted by COVID-19 or its aftermath across the City and County of Denver. Through this program, between $1,000 - $1,500 will be provided in a one-time cash payment to eligible individuals to mitigate the negative financial impact of the pandemic and support economic stability. The Basic Cash Assistance program will provide one-time, $1,000 emergency grants to eligible individuals residing in the City and County of Denver. Additionally, individuals may be eligible for supplemental assistance of up to $500. This program aims to reduce the financial instability caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath, improve financial security, and support families in meeting basic needs required to thrive.
