A bill for an ordinance approving a proposed Amendatory Agreement between the City and County of Denver and The Regents of the University of Colorado, for technical and professional services to be completed by undergraduate or graduate students under professorial supervision, citywide.
Amends an on-call agreement with the University of Colorado at Denver by adding one year for a new end date of 7-01-22 for technical and professional services to be completed by undergraduate or graduate students under professorial supervision, citywide. No change to contract amount (202157838-01; 201842069-01). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 4-5-21. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 3-2-21.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
The University of Colorado Denver (UCD) and City and County of Denver (CCD) contract began on February 15, 1997 and has been continuously renewed to date. Throughout this time, Professor Rens and undergraduate and graduate students have been involved in multiple projects in many different departments. Currently, 7 UCD student are active in the bridge, transportation, and street maintenance divisions. Professor Rens is actively involved with these students in addition to managing bridge rehabilitation projects located at Holly Street, Monaco Pkwy., 48th Avenue, 20th Street, and in Dedisse Park. The current 3-year contract was signed on July 1, 2018 and is set to expire on July 1, 2021. It has sufficient contract capacity at $2,487,183 remaining of $3,000,000. A second one-year extension will be requested late 2021 before requesting a renewed 3-year commitment mid-2022.
