A resolution approving a proposed First Amendment between the City and County of Denver and CenturyLink Communications, LLC concerning telecommunication services and related professional services at Denver International Airport.
Amends a contract with CenturyLink Communications, LLC by adding $2,058,400.84 for a new total of $6,269,308.84 and two years for a new end date of 5-28-23 for telecommunications services and professional services at Denver International Airport (202157945). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 6-28-21. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 5-26-21.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
CenturyLink Communications LLC (CenturyLink) provides the following services to DEN under existing contract and service exhibits - telecommunications services and professional services on an as-needed basis for high-speed internet, Synchronized Optical Network (SONET) managed network services, Distributed Denial-of Service (DDoS), 1FB and PRI, and web hosting services. These services are critical to the day to day operation of the airport and provide DEN with the necessary communications and IT services. Currently, CenturyLink Communications is the only provider available for large scale high-speed internet services at the airport. Prior RFP efforts have tried to court other providers into offering this service at DEN. The City is currently conducting an RFP for high-speed internet and DEN expects to utilize that award at some point in the future. Recently, a SONET replacement RFP was issued and awarded under a new contract. As that project comes online, those services will drop out of this contract. Additionally, some telephony services were awarded to Allstream Business US Inc. under a competitive RFP process in 2017. This contract provides continuity of services for remaining services still required, but not in scope under other contract awards.
