Phase I of the project consists of upgrading the existing levee and flood control system along the west bank of the South Platte River in Council District 9. The Globeville Levee Improvements will extend from E. 50th Avenue to N. of westbound I-70. It includes raising the existing earthen embankment levee and floodwalls to meet FEMA requirements, as well as improvements to the South Platte River trail including additional pedestrian connections. This ordinance also grants the right to negotiate and execute all agreements and to process all necessary payments. This phase of the Globeville Levee project is comprised of seventeen (17) acquisitions. There are seven (7) deed conveyances; three (3) permanent easements and seven (7) temporary easements. The land being acquired affects eight (8) commercial properties and (0) residential.
