This is an amendment to an existing baggage system grant. This amendment clarifies the work scope and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) funding for the Consolidated Check Baggage Resolution Area (CBRA) project. This project will consolidate the existing nine CBRA rooms into two larger rooms. Suspect bags will be moved from screening machines in each Mod via an Individual Carrier System (ICS) system to the new CBRA rooms for further screening. The project will also modify existing oversize lifts. The work will be performed by the selected contractor under a separate expenditure agreement. This amendment is a modification to a Federal agreement and covers both the Revenue and Expense portion of the TSA reimbursement in that DEN will pay invoices submitted by the contractor and submit them to TSA for reimbursement.
This project is partially funded by TSA and will improve the TSA work areas and system efficiencies for the final clearing of checked baggage. The key element to this work is the reduction of work locations from nine to two for the TSA personnel. The project involves the design and installation of a specialized 100% tracked baggage ICS, changes to the Supervisory Controls and Data Acquisition system (SCADA), programmable logic controller (PLC) equipment and software programming to connect seven now independent baggage handling system(BHS) screening modules for the processing of alarmed bags.
