Executive Summary with Rationale and Impact:
Detailed description of the item and why we are doing it. This can be a separate attachment.
Ordinance No. 375 in the 2005 Series established Special Revenue Fund No. 11715, the “Mayor’s Office Donations Fund”, for the purpose of receiving, spending and accounting for private donations in support of Mayor’s Office programs and initiatives. The Mayor’s Climate initiative has generated the entirety of contributions to the fund in the last few years. As such, the cash balance is fully intended to be used for climate purposes. The Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency was established in 2019. Given the intended purposes of the recent donations to Fund 11715 and the fact that CASR now exists as a separate agency under the Mayor, this bill request intends to officially designate Fund 11715 as the “Climate Office Donations Fund” and transfer the administration of the Fund from the Mayor’s Office to the Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency. The new expending authority would be the Executive Director of the Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency.
