A resolution approving a proposed Second Amendatory Agreement between the City and County of Denver and Re:Vision International to continue offering culturally relevant, healthy, locally-sourced food systems and education for youth.
Amends a grant agreement with Re:Vision International, by adding $642,096.00 for a new total of $1,415,074.00 and one year for a new end date of 7-31-2023, through funding from the Healthy Food for Denver’s Kids Initiative, to continue offering culturally relevant, healthy, locally-sourced food systems and education for youth ages 18 and under, in multiple locations in Council District 3 (ENVHL- 202055209-00/ ENVHL-202264174). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 11-7-2022. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 9-21-2022.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
In 2007 Re:Vision set out to rethink community development. Since then, they have transformed one of Denver's most economically marginalized neighborhoods, Westwood, into a thriving, resilient community. Building on the momentum of year 2, Re:Vision seeks to continue creating a local food system by involving local children in growing their own food, cooking classes, and education around food systems and food justice. Re:Vision programs are centered around culturally relevant food and content. Using the garden as a place for discovery and igniting a passion about Latino culture and history through the lens of healthy food.

Most activities will take place on-site, at RISE Westwood:
• Main urban farm and hydroponic farm (Caja Verde) at 3738 Morrison Road
• Commercial kitchen at 3738 Morrison Road
• The garden program will take place in 200 homes around the Westwood community
• Denver Children's Advocacy Center garden, located at 2149 Federal Blvd. in Denver
• Angelica Village garden, at 5455 W. Virginia Ave. in Lakewood
• Denver Indian Center garden at 4407 Morrison Road in Denver
• Promotoras will teach cooking classes in community settings at RISE Westwood, community centers, libraries, schools, and childcare centers.
• Community Champion Gardens will also occur at 10 sites throughout SW Denver
