Approves a contract with PCL Construction Services, Inc. for $7,638,966 and for 420 days for the Concourse A Center Core Escalator Replacement project at Denver International Airport (202056518-00). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 8-16-21. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 7-14-21.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
Escalator replacement: The scope of work is the replacement of 8 outdated escalators with 16 new escalators to include the demolition of the existing escalators, retrofitting the existing structure to accommodate the new escalators, procurement and installation of the new escalators and connecting the new escalators to existing power source. The driving need for this procurement is high maintenance costs due to age of the escalators, excessive down times inhibiting passenger movements from the train platform and the concourse, and additional conveyance capacity. Design complete late Q4 2020; Construction NTP Q3 2021; Substantial Completion North Side Q1 2022; and Substantial Completion South Side Q4 2022.
