Executive Summary with Rationale and Impact:
Detailed description of the item and why we are doing it. This can be a separate attachment.
The Denver Department of Public Health and Environment has a need for a fund that can receive donations to its community health programs. Most recently, foundations have expressed interest in donating to DDPHE’s City Food program, but a fund does not exist that can accommodate this need. Additionally, there are programs focused in Maternal Child Health and community health improvement planning that may receive donations in the future. This bill request would establish the “Community Health Promotion Donations” Fund for the DDPHE to receive donations for any of its community health programs. The fund would be set up on a cash-basis in which budget is established as donations are received. The fund number will be 14704 and the expending authority will be the Executive Director of the Department of Public Health and Environment.
