Type and Scope of services to be performed:

This requests initiation of a contract for the electrification of the Forum Apartments, located at 250 W 14th Avenue, Denver, CO 80204 under the Steam to Electric Conversion Incentive Program. The Steam to Electric Conversion Incentive Program is an initiative to incentivize electrification of District Steam Buildings that are seeking alternatives to steam as a space and water heating fuel in Denver in order to reduce emissions, improve air quality, and increase safety in the City.

The first incentive to be awarded under this program is the Forum Apartments, which are operated by the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless which provides permanent supportive housing community for homeless individuals. The all-electric system will emit 1,375 fewer tons of CO2 over its lifetime compared to a fossil fuel alternative due in part to the high efficiency of the electric system as well as the increased penetration of renewables in Denver’s electric grid mix. The electric system will also provide improved efficiencies for cooling, quiet system operation, and healthy air flow to residents of the building.
