A bill for an ordinance approving a proposed Amendatory Agreement between the City and County of Denver and Colorado State University, the Western Stock Show Association, and the National Western Center Authority to modify the composition and voting of the National Western Center Authority Board by changing one non-voting board member from the Globeville-Elyria-Swansea community to a voting board member. Type and Scope of services to be performed:
Framework Agreement among partners at the NWC governs the appointments and qualifications of NWC Authority Board (the “Board”) members. Currently, the Mayor appoints and the Council confirms two GES community members as part of the Board; one seat is voting and one seat is non-voting. After further discussion by the community, the NWC Authority, and the City, CSU, and the WSSA, this amendment proposes to make the non-voting community member seat a voting community member seat, resulting in two community seats on the Board, both voting members. Because this will result in an even number of Board members, the amendment also provides that any tie-breaker will be broken by the City’s “designated director,” who is designated by the Mayor.
