Executive Summary with Rationale and Impact:
Detailed description of the item and why we are doing it. This can be a separate attachment.
This request is a supplemental request for org numbers 2500000-33090 and 5557000-13812 to fund the General Fund match for the purchase of Crossroads Shelter located at 2109 29th Street and to fund operating costs associated with furnishing the facility. Other grant and capital dollars are also being used for the purchase of this building, the total cost of which is $10.5 Million. This supplemental appropriation allows the City and County of Denver to secure this facility, which currently provides overnight shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness, and will ensure that uninterrupted shelter services can be provided to the community.
A companion resolution would approve the purchase and sale agreement with the Salvation Army to purchase the Crossroads shelter, located at 1901 29th Street.
