Type and Scope of services to be performed:
This resolution requests approval for a Project Funding Grant Agreement with the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation and the Denver Public Library. The Agreement anticipates that the Foundation will provide authorized Fund Transfers to the City in conformance with the milestone and funding requirements in the Agreement should the Foundation obtain sufficient, additional funding to fund the design and construction of Library Project Alternates that could be constructed as a supplement to the Library Project Base. The City will fund the Library Project Base of the Central Branch Library Renovation Project through the use of approximately $38,000,000 of proceeds from Elevate Denver Bonds, and funds raised by the Foundation will support Denver Public Library’s achievement of the overall vision for the Central Branch Library Renovation Project.
To facilitate the transfer of funds from the Foundation for the specific purpose of the Central Branch Library Renovation Project Alternates, there is a companion ordinance that requests the creation of a new Central Library Renovation capital fund (fund number 38760) in the 38000 Grant and Other Money Projects fund series to support the receipt of funds for capital improvements from the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation for the intent outlined in the Agreement.
