A resolution approving and providing for the execution of a proposed amended Grant Agreement between the City and County of Denver and the State Board of the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund (GOCO) for the “My Outdoor Colorado” program and the funding therefor.
Amends a grant agreement with the State Board of the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund by adding $60,837.48 for a new total of $2,760,837.48 and one year for a new end date of 12-31-21 to support My Outdoor Colorado Westwood in connecting underserved inner-city youth with the outdoors in Council District 3 (201734480; 202055600). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 12-21-20. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 11-24-20.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
Grant funds support the Westwood Park nature play area and gardens; a Weir Gulch nature play area and outdoor classroom; a habitat program bringing nature into schoolyards; a mini-mountain bike skills course; a camping/staging area for Genesee Park’s Challenge Course; and programs including gardening programs, afterschool programs, family workshops, expanded nature activities, youth stewardship, outdoor adventures, environmental career exposure, internships, trail installations, and more. Parks & Recreation partnered with and passes-through funds to several non-profit and community partners for these places, pathways, and programs.
