Approves a contract with Castle Rock Construction Company of Colorado, LLC for $13,381,962 and for 150 calendar days to perform construction services for the Pikes Peak Parking Restoration Phase 2 project, at Denver International Airport, in Council District 11. Type and Scope of services to be performed:
This project will reconstruct the south half of the Pikes Peak Shuttle Lot at DEN. Work includes, but is not limited to, full depth pavement reconstruction in the shuttle lanes, pavement underdrain system, concrete white topping overlay of the parking areas, reconstruction of shuttle stop islands, installation of new shuttle stop shelters, electrical and light standard relocation, and new signage and permanent striping. The major tasks required to complete the project include: Erosion Control measures for construction activities for stormwater permit compliance; Removal of pavement at full-depth reconstruction areas, signs, shuttle stop shelters and islands, and bollards/signs; Excavation and disposal of excess soil from site at full-depth reconstruction areas; Underdrain system beneath pavement and stormwater structure adjustments; Asphalt Maintenance, limited patching and crack seal, seal coat on snow pad areas; Concrete paving, full depth paving for shuttle lanes and concrete overlay of parking areas; Electrical connections in shuttle stop shelter, reset of light standards; Shuttle stop island reconstruction and new shelters; New signage and striping, including row identification.
