Vendor/Contractor Name (including any “DBA”): U.S. Motels Denver North, Inc.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:

Amends a contract with U.S. Motels Denver North, Inc., to provide units for non-congregate shelter for individuals and families when the City’s emergency shelter beds are full through the established non-congregate shelter program. This funding will be used during emergencies, as deemed by the City and the Department of Housing Stability.

Uses of these rooms may be used for overflow for families specifically when NCS is full, or if congregate shelter is full or unavailable due to capital projects at shelters and a wider activation response is needed. This could also be used during severe weather or as a bridge option when taking other locations (e.g., Aloft) offline.

The scope of work of the contract with U.S. Motels Denver North, Inc., is to provide units for short-term shelter for individuals and families when the City’s emergency shelter beds are full through the established voucher program. Individuals and families with children will be provided with safe accommodations at preidentified locations owned and operated by U.S. Motels North. Families are defined as households with either a minor or an individual with a disabling condition. All households must meet the federal definition of literal homelessness to be eligible for a voucher. Vouchers will be available to households during Severe Weather Activation as defined by the city or during another emergency situation as defined by HOST. Access to vouchers for emergencies will be available through the Salvation Army Connection Center, both over the phone and in person. During other emergency events, HOST will establish a process for administering emergency vouchers as needed.
