A bill for an ordinance repealing and reenacting a new Article V of Chapter 28 of the Revised Municipal Code entitled “Nondiscrimination in City Contracts and Purchase Orders for Covered Goods and Covered Services and Opportunities for Minority and Woman-Owned Businesses and Small Business Enterprises in Procurements for Covered Goods and Covered Services”.
(BUSINESS, WORKFORCE & SUSTAINABILITY) Updates City ordinances to assure nondiscrimination in the award of City contracts and purchase orders for certain goods and services and to increase opportunities for certified small business enterprises to compete these awards. The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 3-3-14. The Committee approved filing this bill at its meeting on 1-29-14.
