Approves the supplemental appropriation of $700,000 from the General Fund Contingency to Community Planning and Development to increase contract resources to address a permit backlog. The Committee approved filing this bill by consent on 8-15-17.

The Budget and Management Office is requesting a supplemental of $700,000 from the General Fund Contingency (01010-2580900) to increase resources for the Community Planning and Development (01010-0140000) over those budgeted in 2017 to address the backlog of permits. The Safebuilt contract supports on-call review and inspector positions. City Council approved an amendment to the Safebuilt contract to increase the amount. This request will allow CPD to fund the contract through the end of the year.
The General Fund contingency is currently at $18,583772 or 71.6% of original budget. If the above request is approved, the General Fund contingency will end at $17,883,772 or 68.9% of original appropriation.
