Request for an Ordinance to rename Martin Luther King Blvd to East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. That part of Martin Luther King Boulevard from North Downing Street to North Syracuse Street.
Per Ordinance No. 48, Series of 1980, E. 32nd Ave. was renamed to Martin Luther King Blvd. Our understanding is the "Jr." was accidentally omitted from the ordinance, therefore the street name became Martin Luther King Blvd and not Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Newer subdivisions east of Syracuse St. include "Jr." in the street name.
