Executive Summary with Rationale and Impact:

§                     Denver Police Department (DPD) has received a grant agreement from Rocky Mountain HIDTA for a 2018 HIDTA grant award from ONDCP in the amount of $919,338.  The proposed grant agreement, identified by Grant Number G18RM0018A and CFDA No. 95.001, will be administered by DPD and support initiatives designed to implement the strategies proposed by the Executive Board of Rocky Mountain HIDTA.

o                     Total award funding of $919,338 will be distributed among three initiatives within Rocky Mountain HIDTA:

§                     $ 659,026.00 - Front Range Task Force

§                     $   78,024.00 - Fugitive Location & Apprehension Group

§                     $ 182,288.00 - Intelligence Initiative

o                     The proposed award will support two (2.0) FTE within DPD:

§                     1.0 FTE - DPD Lieutenant

§                     1.0 FTE - DPD Management Analyst II

o                     The proposed award will support uniformed officer overtime pay for law enforcement agencies within Rocky Mountain HIDTA including DPD.

 

o                     The proposed award will support three vendor contracts with DPD:

§                     The leasing of eight vehicles used for investigation and surveillance purposes.

§                     The contracting of technical operation and investigative support.

§                     The contracting of IT network support.

o                     The proposed award will be used to purchase technical investigative equipment and computer equipment.

o                     The proposed award will be used to purchase other services, supplies, training, and travel for the Rocky Mountain HIDTA Program.

§                     A cash match is not required by the terms and conditions of the grant.
