A bill for an ordinance approving a proposed Lease Agreement between the City and County of Denver and the Regents of the University of Colorado to allow tenant to lease Space 2C located at 1315 Curtis Street.
Approves a five-year lease agreement with the University of Colorado Denver for $1 annually for 1650 square feet of Gallery Space 2C at the Denver Performing Arts Complex at 1380 Lawrence Street to feature the Next Stage Collaborative, a showcase of student projects with technology and media in Council District 9 (FINAN-201736895). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 7-9-18. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 5-22-18.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
5-year lease of approx. 1,650 square feet at DPAC Galleria. Tenant is UCD Next Stage Collaborative, which showcases student projects with technology & media. $1/year rent for student based performing arts use that would activate DPAC. Arts and Venues (A&V) currently has a limited Booking Agreement with UCD for this use. Given the success of the program, A&V would like to continue the partnership with a longer-term lease. This is in line with DPAC goals of transparent activation, youth-based initiatives, an education focus, and the use of new media and technology.
