A resolution approving and providing for the execution of a proposed grant agreement between the City and County of Denver and the United States Department of Health and Human Services concerning the "Head Start FY18-19" program and the funding therefor.
Accepts a $9,188,648 Head Start grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services to operate the Denver Great Kids Head Start program (201842237). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 8-27-18. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 7-25-18.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
The United States Department of Health and Human Services - Administration for Children and Families has awarded Grant Number 08CH010552 in the amount of $9,188,648.00 to the City and County of Denver - Office of Children’s Affairs to operate the Federal Head Start program and provide services to 1,153 children in its established service area. Per CR18-0528, OCA was granted the authority to set up the budget for 80% of the total award amount stated in the letter of intent. This resolution will approve acceptance of the full amount of the award and allow OCA to set up budget for the remaining 20%. The Budget and Management Office has approved this appropriation request. The contract term is for July 1, 2017 thru June 30, 2018.
