Is the contract new/a renewal/extension or amendment?

Was this contractor selected by competitive process? No                     If not, why not? There are no other contractors or designers that can design or perform services for the AGTS system. Based upon DEN’s knowledge of the industry, the nature of the Denver Must-ride system, and the amount of on-going and planned work to this system, proceeding with Bombardier as the sole source contractor presents the lowest risk of impact to Airport Operations, the most workable solution, the required level of reliability and the provisions necessary to allow for the required upgrades to the system. Also, DEN has already approved a Professional Preference letter with regards to Bombardier being contracted for the AGTS Operations and Maintenance Contract. Based on this information and for this project to proceed in a reasonable and economical process, it is recommended that Bombardier be awarded the contract for designing and engineering the necessary door modifications to this system
