Approves a contract with HKS Architects, Inc. for $2,651,014 and for three years for professional design services for the development of a 20-acre multi-purpose concrete surface area for use as stockyards during the annual Stock Show and for other events at other times throughout the year, located at the National Western Center in Council District 9 (NWC2018-008). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 12-10-18. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 10-23-18.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
The City and County of Denver (“CCD”) seeks Architectural and Engineering Professional Services for the development of a 20-acre multi-purpose concrete surface area for use as Stockyards during the annual Stock Show, as well as supporting other events (fairgrounds, car/RV/boat shows, monster trucks, BMX racing, concert venue, etc.) at other times throughout the year. Includes water, power and lighting distribution throughout the site, catwalks, and provision of temporary penning materials. Also includes the 35,000-40,000 SF Stockyards Event Center, consisting of a 1,000-seat show arena and a 600-seat auction hall with supporting office spaces and other gathering spaces for entertainment and educational purposes
