Type and Scope of services to be performed:

The Federal Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) funds' HSIP CCD 2018 Pkg 4 project is to reconstruct four (4) new traffic signals within the City and County of Denver. The four traffic signals are located at (1) Park Ave. West and I-25/I-70 On-Ramp; (2) Mississippi/Platte River Drive; (3) Mississippi/Santa Fe Drive; and (4) Colfax/Downing. The scope of this project will be to install new traffic signal equipment in accordance with the City and County of Denver standards and Federal Design Guidelines. These include signal indications on every lane, 16" countdown pedestrian faces, Ethernet controllers and switches, and UPS.ADA handicap ramp, curb and gutter, and sidewalk will also be upgraded within the impact area and installed at all locations to meet ADA and City and County of Denver standards if needed. Scope of work also includes new pedestrian crosswalks and stop bars in accordance with Denver standards.  There are no anticipated right of way impacts nor particular environmental disturbances. The City and County of Denver - Public Works will maintain all four traffic signals.

The design of these four signals will be completed for this project by a consultant (under contract to City and County of Denver) that was contracted using the competitively bid 2016 master on-call list that meets Denver's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program. Funding on the reconstruction of the 4 traffic signals is from the Federal Highway Safety Improvement Program funds (90% Federal Funds, 10% State Funds). The requested and approved HSIP funding for this project was $2,000,000. However, if the construction exceeds the approved HSIP funding, then Denver will provide additional funds to complete the project.
