Approves a contract with AECOM Technical Services Inc. for $953,258 and through 10-31-20 for engineering design services for multimodal improvements on Peoria Street from 37th Avenue to 56th Avenue in Council Districts 8 and 11 (201948462). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 6-3-19. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 4-23-19.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
Engineering design services for Peoria Street Multimodal Improvements on Peoria Street from 37th Avenue to 56th Avenue.
Key elements of the project include:
• Enhanced intersection crossing treatments for visibility and safe crossing behavior at 3 to 6 intersections on Peoria street between E 44th Avenue and E 51th Avenue.
• Addressing localized drainage and related issues in the right-of-way north of I-70.
• New sidewalks to address gaps and replace interim sidewalk between E 39th Avenue and E-44th Avenue and tying into sidewalk connections completed as part of Central 70 Project.
• Construction of a 10-12-foot wide bicycle and pedestrian multi-use path along the East side of Peoria to connect to 56th from 44th.
• Enhancements to pedestrian access over the Peoria Street Bridge and to the Peoria Light Rail Station, including bicycle and pedestrian wayfinding signage and pavement markings and possible new pedestrian access on west side of Peoria at 37th Avenue.
