Type and Scope of services to be performed:

The City and County of Denver is leveraging a State of Colorado agreement with Comcast Cable Communications Management for the purpose of providing the City with various telecommunication services including Ethernet Network Services, Ethernet Dedicated Internet Services, Distributed Denial of Service Mitigation Services, Session Initiation Protocol Services and Business Internet Services

The State facilitated a competitive solicitation process for these services and awarded Comcast. Comcast provided aggressive pricing for these services and by leveraging the State agreement the City can realize cost savings estimated at 30% less of what the current rates are.

 

The following is a list of the services the City will be using and approximate yearly expenses:

                     Ethernet Network Services - This provides voice, video, wi-fi, and internet site to site connectivity to City sites (for example recreation centers and the Denver Art Museum) 

                     Ethernet Dedicated Internet Services / Business Internet Services - This provides access to the internet to be used by some of the City’s major applications (for example Workday, Kronos, ServiceNow and Office365)

                     Distributed Denial of Service Mitigation Services - This is a service to help protect the City from unauthorized access (hacking)

                     Session Initiation Protocol Services - The ability to make and receive phone calls over the internet
