Type and Scope of services to be performed:

The Jackson St Storm Phase 1 project connects to the 14'x7' concrete box at the north side of Colfax Avenue and Jackson St, which was constructed by Public Works in 2009. The proposed project replaces a 90" brick main in vacated Jackson St. with 126" RPMP to 14th Avenue. A 10' x 8' concrete box is also installed in 14th Avenue from Jackson St. approximately half way to Harrison St.  This project will reduce flooding in Colfax and 14th Avenues as well as through National Jewish Health’s campus, which experience flooding several times per year.  The project design prevents flooding in the 5-year storm event and reduces surface flows in greater events (approximately 1,800 cfs reduction in the 100-year event).  The future phase(s) of the project extend the storm main to Hale Parkway to provide extra capacity to that system and ultimately further up into the Upper Montclair neighborhood.
