A bill for an ordinance authorizing expenditures in the General Government Special Revenue Fund based on a letter of intent from the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management to fund the City and County of Denver for the “2020 Emergency Management Performance Grant” program.
Authorizes expenditures based on a letter of intent from the Colorado Division of Homeland Security to award $65,000 in funding for the 2020 Emergency Management Performance Grant. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 2-25-20.

Request budget appropriation of $65,000 for the Emergency Management Performance Grant from the Colorado Division of Homeland Security. The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) receives this grant on an annual basis and has done so for the past 19 years. OEM is requesting to establish budget based off the intent to fund documentation from the funder which equates to 50 percent of the total forecasted award. Establishing budget will facilitate the expedient use of the grant dollars prior to the end of the performance period on December 31, 2020.
