Type and Scope of services to be performed:

Located at the south end of the future stockyards and adjacent to the relocated historic water tower, the 40,000 ft2 Stockyards Events Center will be home to a new auction arena and show arena.  A multi-purpose facility for up to 2,000 attendees, it is designed to host Stock Show events, small concerts / performing arts events, and classroom forums.

To deliver this facility, a two-part CM/GC (Construction Manager/General Contractor) construction contract was selected to meet the constrained NWC schedule by starting early construction efforts while engineering and design are finalized. City Council approved part 1 of the contract in November 2019 for foundations and long-lead items.  NWCO is now asking City Council to consider part 2 of the contract, which will include the remainder of the building and site.  The scope of the approximately $7.5M contract includes arena seating, operations offices, public facilities, vendor spaces and utilities.  Additionally, the scope includes grading, paving, landscaping and animal penning in the south stockyards.

The design and construction of this facility is within the NWC budget and construction subcontracts are projected to exceed the 17% MWBE goal.
