Amends a contract with The Denver Rescue Mission by adding $1,974,318 for a new total of $2,471,680 and five months for a new end date of 12-31-20 to provide staffing support for expanded shelters for people experiencing homelessness in response to the COVID-19 public health crisis (HOST 202054655; HOST-202055655-01). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 10-21-20. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 11-23-20.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
The Denver Rescue Mission (“DRM”) will provide shelter staffing support for people experiencing homelessness in response to the COVID-19 public health crisis. While the City works to secure additional non-congregant shelter options to support people experiencing homelessness, this contract will provide staffing to support additional congregant shelter facilities that allow for adequate social distancing and dedensification of existing overnight and day shelters. This serves as a powerful harm reduction strategy to slow the spread of the virus among people seeking these services. This amendment, as written, will provide an additional scope of work and budget to the recently executed contract HOST 202054655. Additional resources and added time will help support operations for men’s shelter at the Denver Coliseum through year-end, and will help to provide 24/7 operations at the existing 48th Ave. shelter.
