A resolution approving a proposed Third Amendatory Agreement between the City and County of Denver and the Stapleton Foundation for Sustainable Urban Communities to provide fitness and nutrition classes at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center.
Amends a non-financial agreement with the Stapleton Foundation for Sustainable Urban Communities by adding one year for a new end date of 12-31-21 to provide fitness and nutrition classes at the Martin Luther King Jr. recreation center in Council District 8 (201735011; 202056137). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 11-23-20. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 10-20-20.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
Stapleton Foundation provides be well Health and Wellness Initiative ("be well") programming and educational opportunities within Recreation Centers for Denver residents. Be well provides a benefit to the Denver community in that programs are facilitated in Spanish or by community members, creating a warm and welcoming environment at the Recreation Center for citizens to engage in healthy lifestyle activities and become introduced to what DPR has to offer in Recreation Center memberships. Be well programs benefit citizens by enhancing the lives and health of the neighborhood residents, contributing to developing more deeply-rooted communities, and serving as a catalyst for Recreation Center use. Under their contract, Stapleton Foundation provides Zumba in Spanish, Heart Health activities, and Nutrition Education courses.
