A resolution approving and providing for the execution of a proposed Grant Agreement between the City and County of Denver and the Colorado Department of Transportation concerning the “Broadway Station and I-25 Safety/Access Improvements” program and the funding therefor.
Approves a grant agreement with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) for $17,365,000 of CDOT funds and $4,341,250 of City funds and through 12-20-30 for work on the South Broadway/I-25 interchange to create a network that provides safe and efficient mobility for all transportation modes, promote transit-oriented development, and to address access to existing, future and planned developments along the South Broadway corridor in Council District 7 (202157885). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 3-30-21. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 2-23-21.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
The City’s Broadway Station at I-25 Multimodel & Safety Improvement Project is located at the Broadway and Interstate 25 Interchange in Denver, Colorado. This project modifies the S. Broadway/I-25 interchange through the construction of a new southbound Interstate 25 on-ramp from the Broadway/ Ohio Intersection and through the reconstruction of the local street network in the vicinity of the interchange, which includes Broadway, Lincoln, Kentucky, Ohio and Exposition.
Other elements of the project include the construction of paved parking at the RTD I-25/ Broadway Station, installation of new or modified traffic signals, installation of new street lighting and storm sewer system improvements.
The goal of the project is to create a network that provides safe and efficient mobility for all transportation modes (pedestrian, bicycle, transit, and automobile); promote transit-oriented development; and to accommodate the existing, future and planned developments along the South Broadway corridor.
