A resolution approving and providing for the execution of a proposed Grant Agreement between the City and County of Denver and the United States of America concerning the “High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area” program and the funding therefor.
Approves a grant agreement with the Office of National Drug Control Policy for $824,254 and through 12-31-22 to support initiatives of the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Program (POLIC-202158043). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 4-26-21. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 3-24-21.

Approves and provides for the execution of a two-year federal Grant Agreement between the City and County of Denver and the U.S. Office of National Drug Control Policy in the amount of $824,254 to support initiatives of the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Program. The HIDTA program, created by Congress with the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988, provides assistance to Federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies operating in areas determined to be critical drug-trafficking regions of the United States. This grant program is administered by the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP).
